Intel® Future Skills
The rapid pace of technological advancement is fundamentally changing the skills needed for the jobs of the future. Intel collaborates with partners to provide hands-on innovation experiences, technology curricula, and employability skills training. These empower today’s youth with the essential skills and experiences that prepare them for tomorrow’s jobs.
US Program
Intel has launched a program in collaboration with a community-based workforce development nonprofit, in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The program aims to prepare youth with the skills and exploratory mindset required for the evolving jobs of tomorrow. Our goals are to help participants secure employment, start their own businesses, continue their education, or create technology solutions. We are working to expand this model to other US cities and include training on emerging technologies.
India Program
In India, we are collaborating with the government, NITI, and other local partners to design and build “tinker labs” within schools and community organizations. These labs give youth the opportunity to learn technology skills, develop a design mindset, and be inspired to innovate. The plan is to use the first ten prototype labs as the model for building hundreds more across the country.
A Virtual Global Community
Make: and Intel Corporation have partnered to create Maker Share, a global maker community for open innovation. Maker Share is where Makers can share their stories, their projects, and their knowledge. It is a digital destination where they can connect in the same way they do at Maker Fairs around the world.
